NELLCO is governed by a 24-member Board of Directors. There is a 5-member Executive Committee. Current officers and their duties are listed below.

As the chief executive officer of the corporation, the President is responsible for the management of all functions of the consortium. He/She supervises the Executive Director. The president must attend all meetings and call Executive Board meetings, as he/she deems necessary. In general, the President promotes the activities and advancement of the consortium; encourages Directors to engage staff members to become involved on NELLCO sub-committees and projects.

NELLCO is a consortium of law libraries collaborating to maximize access to services and resources and to develop, evaluate, and implement innovative programs for the benefit of the members.
