NELLCO's goal is to negotiate the best possible prices and access terms on electronic resources for the membership.  NELLCO is a non-profit, member-driven organization.  Members pay annual dues to participate in the consortium.  NELLCO is not a reseller and does not add any administrative or other fees to the prices negotiated for the membership. All discounts are passed directly on to the members.

Publishers and vendors benefit from consortium participation in a number of ways. First, publishers have a single point of access to many law libraries across the country.  Your content will receive widespread exposure in a very short period of time.  You can establish a trial with multiple law libraries through a single interaction.  Second, the licensing terms for NELLCO members are negotiated through the consortium.  A single license agreement is established for all subscribing members, saving enormous time and effort.  Third, billing is centralized for NELLCO subscriptions through the consortium.  You may choose to send a single bill and receive a single payment.  NELLCO handles billing to the members.  Fourth, NELLCO handles IP information for all members.  Establishing access for subscribing members is a simple, centralized process.  Finally, NELLCO subscriptions are synchronized, resulting in a single renewal date for all subscribing members, rather than many discrete renewal dates.
